The All-Important Core: It’s not just Abs
Many people assume that the core muscles are primarily your abdominal muscles, the abs. They are much more than that.
Your core is a group of several muscles located in the trunk of your body, including the abdominal muscles, back muscles, and muscles around the pelvis.
The core muscles support your stability, balance, spine and contribute to your ability to bend and twist, among many other things.
Your core muscles are engaged in almost every physical activity you perform so that’s why I’ve dedicated a session to this important topic.
In this session, we’ll focus on the benefits of a strong core, like reduced lower back pain, better functional fitness and improved posture. We’ll cover some specific techniques and exercises you can do to improve the overall strength of the powerhouse muscles we call the core.
